Yunnan province in China ２０１１．１１．２～８ |

My husband and I went to Yunnan province for 6 days. Yunnan province places south-west in China and borders on Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam. There are no direct flights from Tokyo area to Yunnan so we flew to Shanghai and took an other flight to Kunmin. We joined a tour include 30 members with us and stayed 2 nights this hotel.
Kunmin We walked around the center of Kunmin and saw local people enjoyed dancing in a park. Baked sweet potato looked yummy!
World heritage “Shilin” Shilin is stone forest in the south of Kuming. It took 1.5 hours from the city to World heritage Shilin. Shilin was colder than Tokyo but flowers were beautiful at this time. Shilin is huge and we can use get these carts so it was easy to go around this area. In the center of Kumin-city, we happened to see a long car for wedding !!
Dali We moved to Dali by bus. It took about 4 hours. We didn’t know about Dali at know at all before we came but there are many tourist places there. We walk around Dali old castle town. It was fun. Pot food and fish is famous in Dali.
After dinner we went to downtown by ourselves and found a local beauty salon ! I love to ask washing my hair when I’m in abroad. Especially in China, it’s very cheap the price. It was about $3 for washing and drying hair set. Then we found Chimese style massage shop. It’s $12/hour. These three towers are famous in Dali. It’s called world famous Dali three pagodas.We visited temple too.
Then we stopped by dyeing cloth factory in suburb. Many tour members bought these tablecloths. We walked around local village for a while. There is a big lake in the center of Dali and many new houses besides there.
Lijing It took about 3 hours to Lijing by bus. Lijing is the place we wanted to visit! Lijian has hundreds of these small houses with gray roofs . I really wanted this scenery in Lijiang. Lijiang became tourist place but I think it’s worth to visit. Light up town is also good at night. We stayed at this local type hotel 2 nights. It was great.
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Jada Dragon Snow Mountain(5596M) locates 15KM from Lijiang. We went there by bus and took a ropeway to observe the mountain. It was great to see high mountain since we couldn’t see the Himalayas when we went to Nepal. We walked around the observation field. The altitude is about 3300M. There is another observation spot where we can go by ropeway and the altitude is about 4500M. If we think about shortage of oxygen, I think 3300M is enough to see the mountain. On the way to the ropeway station, we saw great scenery. Left photo is “Baishuhe”. It reminds me “Pamukakale” in Turky.
We ate local foods when we were in Yunnan. Chinese dishes are good to eat with a group. If we ordered alone we can’t eat many kinds of foods. We always ate like these foods with 8-10 people. Out of the town, there is no modern restaurant though I prefer local restaurant like left photo.
We visited some places to see “embroidery works” and “Dongba character” that Nashi trib use. Yunnan is famous for tea. Especially Pu’ercha is sold anywhere. The taste is different from other normal Chinese tea but it’s good if you want to lose your weight. At night in Lijiang, after we walked around old town we went to a massage shop. One hour foot massage cost us only $6. We could relax and enjoy the night.
We took flights from Lijian to Kunmin and transited to Shanghai. Whenever we came to Shanghai, something has changed. It’s getting bigger city. I have to say it’s too modern. It was cloudy sky on that day.
We enjoyed the last meal with Peking Duck even here is not Beijing.^^. We enjoyed a week trip in China. We went to China more than 10 times but there are many attractive places where we’ve never been to. When we stay one city in China, we prefer to go by personal trip though if we want to see many places in limited time, group tour trip is very useful and cheap I think. See you again ! English Top |
